VISAKHAPATNAM: Two persons were arrested and 21 tolas of stolen gold ornaments were recovered from them by the Three Town police.
Giving details to the media on Saturday, Additional DCP P. Rama Rao said the accused had stolen the ornaments from the house of Siddhartha Roy and Pushpanjali at Doctor’s Colony, Peda Waltair a few days ago. The incident occurred during daytime when Roy and his wife left for work.
They had lodged a complaint with the police after returning home from work. The police, under the supervision of CI Ranga Raju, kept a watch on the movements of suspicious characters. On a tip-off that habitual offenders Y. Srinivas and K. Yellaji were going to sell stolen ornaments, they tracked them down and arrested them.
