Sharmada to meet Natasha
Mumbai: Karnataka’s Sharmada Balu will meet Goa’s Natasha Palka in the girls’ under-16 final of the 3rd Ramesh Desai junior National tennis championship.
Sharmada and Natasha won the semifinals in straight sets at the Ranade Tennis Centre here in Saturday.
The results: Girls’ singles under-16 (semifinals): Sharmada Balu (Knt) bt Teertha Iska (AP) 6-2, 6-1, Natasha Palha (Goa) bt Prarthana Thombare (Mah) 6-3, 7-6
Doubles under-16 (final): Teertha Iska (AP)/Prarthana Thombare (Mah) bt Natasha Palha (Goa)/Kanika Vaidya (Mah) 2-6, 6-0, 10-5.
Boys’ doubles under-16 (final): Mohit Mayur (TN)/Ronit Bisht (Del) bt Haadin Bava (Mah)/ Vishwesh Sinha (Mah) 6-4, 5-7, 16-14. — Special Correspondent
