Palaniyandi administered the anti-terrorism day pledge to the District Collectorate staff on Thursday on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. District Revenue Officer G. Srinivasan, Personal Assistant (General) to District Collector, Ganesan and Public Relations Officer U. Ravindran were among those who were present. City Commissioner of Police M.N. Manjunatha administered the pledge to the police personnel and the ministerial staff at his office while Corporation Commissioner T. Mohan led the administration of pledge on the corporation premises. Led by Tirunelveli city district Congress president S. Sundararajaperumal, party functionaries offered floral tribute to the portrait of the late leader in a function held at the party’s district headquarters at Kokkirakulam. TuticorinTuticorin Collector G. Prakash administered the pledge at the collectorate. The officers congregated at Muthu Arangam and took the pledge at 11 a.m. Mr. Prakash read out the pledge for peace, communal harmony, sovereignty, tolerance and non–violence. Congress workers paid homage to the late Prime Minister and garlanded the portrait on his 18th death anniversary. S. D. R. Vijayaseelan, District Youth Congress president, administered anti terrorism pledge at Youth Congress Office stationed on V.E. Road. The pledge was administered by Chairman of Tuticorin Port Trust G.J. Rao on its premises. Mr. Rao read the message to curb terrorism and the officials and employees of TPT followed suit. A. Subbiah, Deputy Chairman, Tuticorin Port Trust, was present.
