Villagers admitted to hospitals

TIRUNELVELI: Fifty villagers from Nadupoolaankulam near Alangulam have been admitted to various hospitals at Tenkasi, Alangulam and Paavoorchathram with diarrhoea and vomiting.

Official sources here said the villagers, who complained of severe vomiting and diarrhoea, were rushed to the hospitals on Saturday night. Since Health Department officials suspect that contaminated drinking water might have caused the problem, preventive measures had been taken. Water sample had been sent for analysis.
