TRS makes it to just one seat in Medak

R. Avadhani

SANGAREDDY: It is a slap in the face for Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) founder and president K. Chandrasekhar Rao in his native district of Medak by his own Telangana people. The TRS which had bagged at least four seats in the 2004 general elections, when it contested along with the Congress and Left parties, retains only one seat this time.Though the TRS contested for four seats in the district, it was able to win only from Siddipet Assembly segment where the Statehood sentiment was pronounced notwithstanding the personal strength of T. Harish Rao, a close relative of the TRS president. Mr. Harish Rao won with more than 63,000 majority. In the other three constituencies – Dubbak, Sangareddy and Narayanakhed – the party lost the elections.
