Sony scalps six

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Ranji Trophy captain Sony Cheruvathur scalped six wickets as SBT ‘A’ crushed Rovers CC by eight wickets in the Alka Ventures TDCA ‘A’ division cricket league at the Agriculture College ground on Saturday.

Sony’s spell (six for 30) bundled out Rovers CC for 123 runs. SBT took just 16 overs to reach the target.

In ‘C’ division at the LNCPE, VSSC defeated Trivandrum Cricket Club by 74 runs.

In ‘D’ division at the Medical College ground, Chasers CC defeated Marshals CC by three wickets and in ‘F’ division, Classic CC and Sreetarama recorded wins.

‘A’ division: Rovers CC 133 in 29.4 overs (Abilash 41, Sony Cheruvathur six for 30) lost to SBT ‘A’ 135 for two in 16 overs (Ramakrishnan 36 no)

‘C’ division: VSSC 250 for eight in 45 overs (Sreejith 50, Sujith 61, Desikan 43) bt Trivandrum CC 176 in 33.4 overs (Kiran 62, Suresh three for 45)

‘D’ division: Marshals CC 166 in 29.3 overs (Vivek six for 30) lost to Chasers C 167 for seven in 29.2 overs (Unnikrishnan 64no, Shasankan three for 40)

‘F’ division: Classic CC 180 for nine in 26 overs (Aannd Unni 47, Ashwin six for 55) bt Virad CC 141 for eight in 26 overs (Anu Alex four for 32).

Chasers ‘B’ 135 in 24 overs (S.Shanavas 40, E.M.Adarsh 38) lost to Sreetarama 137 for two in 13.2 overs (Ajeesh Kumar 48).
