HSBC wins

VISAKHAPATNAM: HSBC retained the VDCA institutions league title, thanks to its better run-quotient after it tied with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Eastern Naval Command after the super league ended.

HPCL pulled off a last-ball win over HSBC in the last match for its second win, but lost the race in the run-quotient. It finished runner-up while ENC, also win two wins took the third place.

The scores: HSBC 164 for seven in 30 overs (Aditya Banerjee 37, Ranjith 26, Sanjay Kumar five for 32) lost to HPCL 165 for six in 30 overs (Abhishek Singh 33).

APEPDCL 122 in 29.5 overs (G.V. Sekhar 31, B. Krishna 25, Anil Deshwal six for 26) lost to ENC 126 for no loss in 18 overs (N. Abbas 54 n.o., R.K. Ghosh 51 n.o.). — Special Correspondent
