“I will send Army to Sri Lanka”

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa on Sunday said she would send the Indian Army to Sri Lanka to create a separate Eelam.

“It is my firm proclamation. Tamil Eelam is the only solution to the sufferings of the Tamils. There is no change in my opinion. I will send the Indian Army to Sri Lanka just as late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi sent it to East Pakistan to create Bangladesh,” she said, campaigning for the party’s South Chennai Lok Sabha constituency S.Rajendran and Central Chennai candidate S.M.Mogamedali Jinnah. Ms. Jayalalithaa alleged Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi talked about creating a separate Eelam, because he could not stomach the world-wide appreciation she received for her support to the creation of Tamil Eelam.
