THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Karnataka won a double in the South Zone senior baseball championships at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium on Sunday. Karnataka thrashed Kerala 10-0 to win the men’s title, while its women downed host Kerala 5-1 to take the crown. Tamil Nadu edged out Puducherry 2-1 to finish third in the men’s section. Tamil Nadu also finished third in the women’s section. Arun Irani (Tamil Nadu) and Kusumam (Karnataka) were chosen as the best pitcher in the men’s and women’s section respectively. Siddharth (Karnataka) and Salma (Kerala) were chosen as the best catchers in the men’s and women’s sections respectively.
