Punjab blanks Kerala, enters last four

Margao: Punjab scored an emphatic 6-0 win over Kerala on Saturday to enter the semifinals of the I8th under-21 National football championship for the Dutta Ray Trophy here.

Punjab, which dominated the match, scored through Ajay Singh (16th and 27th), Maninder Singh (28th), Vijay Kumar (33rd), Gurtej Singh Jr. (60th) and Gurpreeth Singh (61st).

Thus Punjab, which beat Meghalaya in its opening encounter, is leading the table with six points from two ties and is through to the semifinals. Kerala has one point from two matches.— PTI
