VELLORE: The State government has declared May 15 as a local holiday for government offices in Vellore district to enable the public, government officials and others to participate in the annual ‘Sirasu’ festival being conducted by the Gengaiamman Temple in Gudiyatham. According to a release from the Collector of Vellore, June 13 (Saturday) would be a working day for government officials and June 14 (Sunday) a working day for employees of government printing presses in lieu of May 15.
