BEML signs off with a win

BANGALORE: BEML (Earth Movers) rounded of its BDFA super division league engagements on a winning note at the Football Stadium here on Friday, but its 30 points and a third place finish was far from convincing. BEML eked out a 2-1 win over Postal for its ninth win besides three draws.

Nigerian Samuel Jackson struck in the 11th minute for BEML but Deepan levelled the scores in the 22nd minute.

However, BEML was not to be denied full points as Prakash turned in the match-winner in the 72nd minute. Postal finished its league matches with 12 points and will stay afloat in the super division.

Earlier, MEG defeated BEL 3-2. Lokeshwar Singh, Arvind Raj and Dhandi Singh netted for the Sappers, who now have 24 points with a match against LRDE in hand. MEG finishes ahead of CIL.

BEL got its goals through Suman and Suren, late in the match and finished with 13 points. — Special Correspondent
