Double delight for Damini Gowda

BANGALORE: Damini K. Gowda of BAC claimed two golds on the first day of the State sub-junior swimming championship at the SAI (South) Centre pool in Kengeri here on Friday. Damini won the 50m backstroke and 200m individual medley races.

In the boys’ Group III segment, Md. Yaqoob Saleem of PMSC did well to claim gold in the 200m freestyle and a bronze in the 50m backstroke event.

Abhishek hits century

Abhishek Reddy’s unbeaten 107 guided Jawahar SC (1) to a nine-wicket victory over Jaidur Cricketers in a KSCA under-16 tournament match here recently.

The scores: Jaidur Cricketers 192 for nine in 50 overs (Vinodh 44, Arun Pandey 31, Sanjith 30, Nihal three for 16) lost to Jawahar SC (1) 193 for one in 42.3 overs (Abhishek Reddy 107 n.o., D. Nishal 53).
