Centurion: Rajasthan Royals medium-pacer Amit Singh on Friday became the second cricketer in the on-going Indian Premier League (IPL) to be reported for suspect bowling action after his match-winning effort of four for 19 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday. Amit, who helped his side beat Bangalore by seven wickets, joined teammate Kamran Khan in the suspect bowling action list after on-field umpires Daryl Harper and K. Hariharan reported him. Amit’s case has been referred by the IPL to the Rajasthan Royals team management and the IPL Technical Committee for further scrutiny under Law 24.3 of the Laws of Cricket. “After the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the SuperSport Park, TV footage was obtained and examined by all the three umpires, including TV umpire Tyron Wijewardene. They decided further action was necessary under Law 24.3 of the Laws of Cricket,” an IPL statement said. The little known 27-year-old medium-pacer, who plays for Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy, however, can continue playing until he is proven guilty of an illegal action. — PTI
