Pashmin Bhasin wins girls’ title

NEW DELHI: Pashmin Bhasin of New Era Public School won the girls’ singles title beating the youth girls’ champion Shelly Khandelwal of Guru Harkrishan Public School, India Gate, 15-13, 9-11, 11-9, 11-9, 14-12 in the 17th St. Columba’s Open table tennis tournament at the school premises here on Friday.

The results: Women (semifinals): Ruchika Soin bt Pashmin Bhasin 11-5, 11-7, 10-12, 12-10, 2-11, 14-12; Komodi Oswal bt Akshita Sahni 11-4, 4-11, 11-5, 4-11, 11-8, 13-11.

Girls (final): Pashmin bt Shelly Khandelwal 15-13, 9-11, 11-9, 14-12. Semifinals: Pashmin bt Shivangi Malhotra 14-12, 13-11, 11-13, 12-10, 12-10; Shelly bt Anchal Bangia 11-4, 11-0, 11-4, 11-6.

Youth girls (final): Shelly bt Komodi 11-9, 11-6, 11-8, 11-7. Semifinals: Shelly bt Ruchika 9-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-8, 11-8; Akshita bt Pashmin 12-10, 11-9, 11-5, 11-5.
