New Delhi: India will send a 10-member team, with Olympians Sharath Kamal and Neha Aggarwal as spearheads, for the 18th Commonwealth table tennis championship starting in Glasgow on May 19. World No. 85 Sharath, the best bet in singles, will join the team later after fulfilling his commitments with the Super Division club San Sebastian in the Spanish League.
Subhajit Saha, Sourav Chakraborty, A. Amal Raj and Pathik Mehta are others in the men’s squad. Neha, who missed the World Championship due to academic commitments, will spearhead the women’s campaign. Poulomi Ghatak, Mouma Das, Kumaresan Shamini and Madhurika Patkar being the others in the women’s squad. During the week-long tournament the paddlers will be accompanied by National coach Massimo Constantini and Bhawani Mukherjee, chief coach for table tennis in NIS Patiala. — PTI
