‘Mr. Tamil Nadu’ Classic Open

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Amateur Body Building Association (CDABBA) will host the Mr. Tamil Nadu Classic Open body building championship for men at the Corporation Kalaiarangam here on May 30 and 31.

About 250 body builders from across the State are expected to participate in the two-day event, which features nine weight categories.

The District trials for the open championship will be held at the Kannis gymnasium in Venkitapuram on May 17 at 10.30 a.m.

Cricket camp

The District Cricket Association-Namakkal (DCAN) will conduct a summer coaching camp for the under-19 boys at the SPB Colony grounds in Namakkal from May 16 to 30.

JSS posts wins

JSS College of Pharmacy posted wins in the TNCA-NDCA third division cricket league for the Fountain India Rolling Trophy in Udhagamandalam recently.

Earlier, middle order batsman Joji’s unbeaten 110 came in handy as Gudalur Cricket Club defeated Nilgiris Cricket Club on a better run rate in a rain affected match at the HPF grounds.

The scores: Third division (Fountain India Rolling Trophy): Rockets CC 67 (R. Viren four for 14, S. Nishit three for 3) lost to JSS CoP 68 for three in 11.5 overs; Riverside CA 188 (N. Raghunath 46, J. D. Dilip four for 35) lost to JSS CoP 189 for eight in 35 overs (J. Dilip 59); Zeal Guys 74 (D. Avinesh three for 24) lost to JSS CoP 75 for seven in 17 overs. — Sports Reporter
