NEW DELHI: In an encouraging move for Indian football, the All-India Football Federation (AIFF) and the United States Soccer will have a regular series of competitions for the National teams. The U.S. Soccer President, Sunil Gulati, said here on Tuesday that there was a possibility of regular matches between the National and youth teams of India and U.S. Gulati said the U.S. National team could play in the Nehru Cup next year. “We will be happy to have an exchange programme,” he added. Gulati also emphasised the importance of a broad based Youth Development Programme (YDP). “India should stress on youth and long term development,” said Gulati, who was all praise for the organisational skills and success of the Indian Premier League currently on in South Africa. — Special Correspondent
