Vikram finishes 14th

NEW DELHI: Vikram Bhatnagar shot a 132 out of 150 and finished 14th in doubletrap in the shotgun World Cup in Cairo on Wednesday. He had a series of 45, 44 and 43.

Double world record holder Ronjan Sodhi shot a 130 following rounds of 44, 42 and 44 for the 17th spot among 34 shooters. Himanshu shot 120 with identical rounds of 40 for the 24th place.

Vikram Chopra had two impressive rounds of 48 and 45 in the Minimum Qualifying Score (MQS) section but a below par second round of 39 pulled his total down to 132.

Francesco Daniello of Italy won the gold with a total of 185, as he beat Rashid Al-Athba of Qatar by two points.

Men’s doubletrap: 1. Francesco Daniello (Ita) 185 (140); 2. Rashid Al-Athba (Qat) 183 (139); 3. Roland Gerebics (Hun) 182 (136); 14. Vikram Bhatnagar 132; 17. Ronjan Sodhi 130; 24. Himanshu 120. MQS:Vikram Chopra 132; Mohammed Asab 125.
