Cable TV operator killed

Staff Reporter

TIRUNELVELI: A cable television operator was murdered by a three-member gang at Tenkasi on Wednesday.

Police said M. Mohamed Maideen (56) of Padikkattu Pallivaasal Street of Tenkasi was hacked to death by three unidentified persons when he was in his browsing centre at Amman Sannithi around 1 p.m.

Family dispute or business rivalry might have led to the murder of Maideen, who was the president of Tenkasi Cable Television Operators’ Association, the police suspect.

Superintendent of Police Asra Garg visited the spot. Additional police forces have been deployed at Tenkasi to strengthen security as electioneering is going on.
