Himanshu stuns Timoschenko; three share lead

MUMBAI: International Master Himanshu Sharma (2403), employing a rook-and-pawn endgame, forced Grandmaster Georgy Timoschenko (2550) to resign on the 82th move in a fifth round clash at the Mumbai Mayors Cup international open chess tournament.

Second seed GM Alexander Aveshchenko (2657) of Ukraine, fifth seed GM Abhijeet Gupta (2570) of India and GM Andrei Deviatkin (2566) of Russia share the lead with five points each.
