Andhra men finish runner-up

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra men finished runner-up in the 54th senior National ball badminton championships held at Bhilai recently.

Andhra lost to Hyderabad in a keenly-fought final, at 25-29, 27-29, after leading in both sets. Andhra was runner-up in the last Nationals also, held at Bellary, general secretary of Andhra Ball Badminton Association R. Venkata Rao informed here on Monday. Andhra women, who entered knockout stage last year, finished fifth this time.

Association president Ch. Amar Kumar and other office-bearers congratulated the men’s team.
