PATHANAMTHITTA: The former Meghalaya Governor M.M. Jacob presented the Acharya Award for teachers at a function at the Basil Bishops’ House here on Monday. The awards have been instituted by the Thumpamon diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church in memory of poet C.P. Chandy. A. Moideen, teacher at Muzhakunnu Government Upper Primary School, Kannur, and C.K. Dileepkumar of KKVM Higher Secondary School, Thalasserry, were the recipients of the award, comprising a cheque of Rs.25,000 and a citation. Kuriakose Mar Cleemis Metropolitan presided over the function. Mr. Jacob also delivered the fourth C.P. Chandy commemoration speech.
