KANNUR: Chief Secretary K.J. Mathew was hospitalised here for over five hours on Sunday after he developed physical uneasiness. Mr. Mathew, who was here on an official visit, was taken to the AKG Memorial Cooperative Hospital at 4.30 a.m. after he developed physical uneasiness at the Government Guest House where he was staying. All his official programmes were cancelled. The hospital authorities said the Chief Secretary was admitted to the hospital with symptoms of bronchitis and fever. He was under medical observation in the intensive care unit of the hospital till 10 a.m. when he was discharged, they said. He was taken to the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) in Kozhikode. Mr. Mathew reached here on Saturday on an official visit.
