Karunanidhi admitted to hospital

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi was admitted to a private hospital here on Sunday for treatment of fever. A release said that his condition was normal.

All his election campaign meetings announced for Sunday and Monday have been cancelled after doctors advised him two days’ rest.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh enquired about Mr. Karunanidhi’s health over phone.

A release said that the Prime Minister spoke to Mr. Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi and ascertained the Chief Minister’s health condition.
