Margao: Riding on Sherbamunda Sonewal’s brace, Assam on Saturday scored an easy 6-0 win over Chhattisgarh for its second consecutive win in the cluster IV match of the under-21 football championship for the Dutta Ray Trophy, played at Curtorim ground. Assam took an early lead in the seventh minute through Bikas Das. Haokip then increased the lead in the 14th minute. After change of ends, Assam scored four goals through a brace from Sherbamunda Sonewal and a goal each from Santosh and N. Kuki to collect six points from two matches. While Chhattisgarh which lost its first match against Delhi is still to open its account from Saturday’s defeat. Other results: Arunachal Pradesh 2 drew with Chandigarh 2.— PTI
