Collector orders probe into fee hike

Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM: District Collector Sanjay Kumar on Saturday asked Municipal Commissioner B. Sridhar to probe into rationale behind hefty fees hike effected by the management of Etasi Timpany Schools.

After a representation by the Etasi Timpany Schools’ Parents Association, the Collector responded favourably by appointing Mr. Sridhar as the enquiry officer, association president C. Bala Satish said in a release.

He said 100 per cent hike in fees done by the management was highly objectionable and unaffordable by several parents and reminded that the school was set up by registering it under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 as a non-profit organisation.

Mr. Satish said they did not raise their voice, to maintain good relationship with the management, when tuition, special and other fees were increased in the past.

“Now it has reached intolerable limits,” he said and requested the parents not to pay the enhanced fee till an amicable settlement.
