Ekhabinskya claims main event

Mumbai: Ekhabinskya, ridden by I. Chisty, won the K.M. Munshi Trophy, the main event of the penultimate day’s races here on Saturday. The winner is owned by Mr. Vinay Kumar & Mrs. Rekha Advani. Faisal A. Abbas trains the winner.

As Irish Jockey Daniel Grant, who is leading the tally by 36 wins, will not be available on Sunday due to his engagements abroad, the Stewards of RWITC presented him the Jockeys’ Championship trophy on Saturday.

For the first time in the history of Western India racing the Jockeys’ Championship was won by a foreign jockey.
