HYDERABAD: Osmania University defeated Deccan Blues 2-1 in the A-2 Division hockey league championship here on Friday. Deccan took the lead in the first half through Satish. However, Osmania equalised through Santosh just before the break. In the final minutes of the second session, Sai Kiran was on target to clinch the issue for Osmania. AOC in finalAOC Centre entered the final of the Hyderabad District annual basketball league championship with an 80-73 win over Artillery Centre in the semifinals on Friday. At half-time, the winner led 48-34. In the final, AOC will take on South Central Railway on Saturday. The scores: AOC 80 (Sanjay 23, Sowmya 20) bt Artillery Centre 73 (Mahender 16, Gopal 11). Badminton meetGreater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will organise its annual open badminton tournament from May 18 to 24 at the GHMC Ameerpet Indoor Stadium here. Competitions will be held for boys and girls in under-10, under-13, under-16 and under-19 categories. Entries close on May 14 and should be sent to Venugopal, Coach, (9949491313) at the venue.
