NEW DELHI: ‘Just for kicks’, a football clinic aimed at encouraging children between 10 and 14 years, was launched here on Friday. Under the programme, promoted by Japanese corporate house YKK Holding Asia (YHA), around 200 kids will be trained on Saturday and Sunday by three coaches from FC Barcelona. “The coaching staff from FC Barcelona Soccer School will look to impart Spanish football philosophy to the children,” YHA Managing Director Ken Nakano said. “YHA started such a clinic in Singapore in 2007 and after the resounding success we thought we will do it in India and Vietnam,” he said. On Friday, the opening day of the programme, 30 aspiring coaches from north India were trained. Second level coaches from Spain Guilermo Oriol Gil, Joan Della Morte and Ivan Palanco Santiago conducted the camp. Billiards, snooker meetThe Delhi state billiards and snooker championship will be held at the DBSA Cue Sports Academy (Pitampura) here from May 22. Winners and runners-up from the event will represent Delhi in the National championship to be held in Agra in September. Entry fee for the sub-junior category is Rs. 200 while it is Rs. 500 for junior and senior sections. Meanwhile, the second Delhi Schools Open cue sports tournament will be held from June 20.
