THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister P.K. Sreemathi has asked the Health Secretary and the Director of Health Services to take precautionary measures against swine flu, which has spread in the Americas and some European countries. She asked them to make arrangements to medically examine those coming from the flu-hit regions in the three airports in the State. Those who landed in the State from these countries recently could also be subjected to medical examination. The District Medical Officers of the districts in which the airports are located were asked to coordinate with the heads of the airports and the Revenue and Tourism Departments in this regard. She also sought the Chief Minister’s intervention for the coordinated functioning of the health, revenue and tourism departments to tackle the threat.
