“Reveal steps against slush funds”

Special Correspondent

TIRUCHI: The Consumer Protection Council, Tamil Nadu, has called upon political parties to outline the steps that they propose to take to retrieve the money stashed away in foreign banks.

Retrieving the money could help the country fight poverty and repay its debts. Voters should carefully consider the steps promised by each party towards retrieving the money hoarded in foreign banks, the council said in a resolution adopted at its annual general body meeting here recently.

The council also appealed to political parties to come out with their commitment on laying double-line between Tiruchi and Chennai, introducing an express train between Tiruchi and Tirunelveli and a second express train on the Tiruchi-Bangalore section.

Multi-level parking

The Council urged the State government to take steps to build a multi-level parking lot and a pedestrian sub-way near Main Guard Gate in the city.

It called upon the police to install invertors for uninterrupted operation of the traffic signals as crossing the signals has become difficult during load shedding.
