10-wkt. win for Swantons

PALAKKAD: Medium-pacer Robert Fernandez and left-arm spinner K.R. Sreejith took three wickets each as Ernakulam’s Swantons CC drubbed Jolly Rovers (Perinthalmanna) by 10 wickets and entered the semifinals of the K.H. Syed Ali memorial all-Kerala cricket tournament at the Fort Ground here on Wednesday.

In another match, off-spinner Anoop grabbed five wickets as Kids CC (Thiruvananthapuram) thrashed Pioneers CC (Cherpu, Thrissur) by 96 runs and progressed to the pre-quarterfinals.

The scores:

Jolly Rovers (Perinthalmanna) 81 in 28.4 overs (Arun Pradeep 31, Robert Fernandez three for three, K.R. Sreejith three for nine) lost to Swantons CC (Ernakulam) 85 for no loss in 12.2 overs (Sebastian Antony 45 n.o., Abhishek Hegde 33 n.o.).

Kids CC (Thiruvananthapuram) 159 in 28.2 overs (Anjith 47, Sachin 33, Sreesankar four for 25) bt Pioneers (Cherpu) 63 in 12.5 overs (Anoop five for 18).

Tuesday’s matches: Pre-quarterfinal: Jolly Rovers 144 in 29.1 overs (Praseed three for 15, Fasal three for 26) bt Sussex CC (Kozhikode) 113 in 24.3 overs (Mithun 49, Sijoy 45, Shibil six for 11).
