EC decision after examining CD
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: The Election Commission has asked the Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer to send it the CD containing visuals of alleged money distribution to voters by the former Prime Minister, H.D. Deve Gowda, a candidate of the Janata Dal (S) from Hassan.
Only after watching the CD, the Commission would take further decision on the issue, Deputy Election Commissioner J.P. Prakash told journalists here on Tuesday.
The ruling BJP in Karnataka has filed a complaint with the election authorities against Mr. Gowda.
On the “derogatory” comments made against Samajwadi Party’s candidate from Lucknow Nafisa Ali by her BSP rival Akhilesh Das Gupta, Mr. Prakash said the Commission would decide on the matter on Wednesday. Mr. Gupta has already filed his reply to the notice issued by the Commission.
