TSPM level

CHENNAI: The level of total suspended particulate matter (TSPM) in the ambient air at a residential area in T.Nagar during the 24 hour period ending 6 a.m. on Tuesday was 323 microgram/cubic metre. The permissible limit is 200 microgram/cubic metre.
According to data provided by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB), the level of respirable suspended particulate matter (RSPM) at the location during the same period was 120 microgram/cubic metre as against the permissible limit of 100 microgram/cubic metre.
At a traffic intersection in Kilpauk, the level of TSPM was 251 microgram/cubic metre and the RSPM was 123 microgram/cubic metre, according to a press release.
