Repolling peaceful in Jharkhand

NEW DELHI: The repolling in 115 polling stations in Jharkhand passed off in a “complete peaceful” atmosphere without any incident. About 55 per cent of voters cast their votes.

Polling in these naxal affected areas could not be held or disrupted when the State went to polls on April 16 and 23 due to violence. The repolling was completed at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

In some places helicopter were used to ferry the men and material.

In the phase-III poll, scheduled on April 30 in 107 constituencies, as many as 15,193 polling stations have been identified as coming under naxal-prone areas of West Bengal and Bihar.
