Pregnant woman ‘killed’ by husband

NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly set ablaze by her husband and his sister-in-law at Jafarpur Kalan here on Sunday.

The victim later died in hospital.

The tragic incident took place in the afternoon when Somvir and his brother’s wife Guddi allegedly set the former’s wife Gayatri on fire. She was eight months pregnant.

She was rushed to Rao Tula Ram Hospital with 100 per cent burns, from where she was referred to Safdarjung Hospital.

She succumbed to the burns later.

The police have registered a case and arrested Guddi. She purportedly disclosed that Somvir suspected that his wife had relations with someone else. A hunt has been launched for him.
