Teenager killed by Blueline bus

NEW DELHI: A 17-year-old young man was killed and his friend injured when a Blueline bus hit the scooter they were riding at Sarai Rohilla here on Sunday.

Aalekh, a Class X student, was driving the scooter and his friend Vineet was pillion riding when the bus plying on route 182 – between Inter-State Bus Terminus and Sukhbir Nagar -- hit them near a roundabout around 3-30 p.m.

Both were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Aalekh was declared dead on arrival. Vineet has been kept under observation.

Angry residents damaged a windowpane of the bus, whose driver fled abandoning the vehicle on the spot.

The police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the driver.
