Dramatic win for ECR SA
VISAKHAPATNAM: East Coast Railway Sports Association pulled off a last-ball one-wicket win over Visakhapatnam Port Sports Council in the VDCA first division league here on Thursday.
Andhra Ranji player H. Vatekar scored a century (113, 10x4, 1x6) in VPSC’s total of 216. Railway team chased well and KVB Murthy, who remained not out on 28, scored two off the last ball to clinch victory.
The scores: VPSC 216 in 43.4 overs (H. Vatekar 113, Ch. Someswara Rao three for 51, D. Narendra Kumar three for 60) lost to East Coast Railway Sports Association 217 for nine in 46 overs (Y.V. Saikumar 42, P. Madhusudhan 32, D. Narendra Kumar 32, R. Vasudeva Rao 31, K.V.B. Murthy 28 n.o., V.V. Ramana three for 53, Ch. Radhakrishna three for 62).
