Chithirai festival

The annual Chithirai festival of Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple will take place from April 26 to May 7. The highlights of the festival will be pattabishekam of Goddess Meenakshi on May 3 and her wedding with Lord Sundareswarar on May 5. The car festival will be held on May 6. Arrangements are being made for live relay of the festival on radio and television channels.
