Contestants file papers in Tiruvannamalai, Arni

Tiruvannamalai: Major contestants of Tiruvannamalai and Arni parliamentary constituencies filed their nomination papers on Monday.
In Tiruvannamalai, 7 candidates, including DMK candidate and sitting MP for Tiruppathur constituency (abolished in the delimitation process) T.Venugopal, PMK candidate J.Gurunathan, DMDK candidate S.Manikandan, PMK dummy candidate G.Ponnusamy of Tirupathur, filed their papers,
Independent candidates M.Mani of Krishnapuram in Vandavasi Taluk, S.Balasundar of Perungavur in Gingee Taluk and S.Harikrishnan of Adhiyur in Tiruppathur taluk also filed their papers with Returning officer of the constituency and District Collector M.Rajendran. Nine candidates have filed their papers in Tiruvannamalai constituency till Monday.
In Arni, 5 candidates including Congress candidate and former TNCC president M.Krishnaswamy, Congress dummy candidate Vasantharaj, AIADMK candidate Mukkur N.Subramaniam, AIADMK dummy candidate A.Ashok Kumar and the lone independent candidate M.Durairajan have filed their papers with Returning officer of the constituency R.Pitchai at his office in Cheyyar on Monday.
