Three file nominations for Sivaganga

Special Correspondent

SIVAGANGA: Though no one came forward to file nomination papers for the Ramanathapuram constituency on Friday, three independents, including a Congressman, filed their papers for the Sivaganga constituency.

They filed the nominations with the Collector-cum-Returning Officer Pankaj Kumar Bansal at the Collectorate.

The candidates were M.A. Dhanapal, president of Chamber of Commerce, from Alangudi, N. Selvam of Thoothai and K. Kalaimani of Ilayankudi. Mr. Dhanapal was a Congressman.

The district administration had made elaborate arrangements in restricting the vehicles and those accompanying the candidates. Only five persons were allowed with the candidates and the others were stopped 100 meters away from the chamber of the Returning Officer.
