BDA notices to shopkeepers quashed

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Shopkeepers and owners of business establishments of complexes owned in the city by the BDA on Friday heaved a sigh of relief when the Karnataka High Court quashed notices issued by the authority .

Justice Mohan Shantangouder noted that the BDA notices to shopkeepers of its complexes in Indiranagar, R.T. Nagar and Austin Town did not contain valid reasons asking them to vacate the premises. The shopkeepers had petitioned the court after the BDA sent notices to them, asking them to vacate the premises within a specified time.

Mr. Justice Mohan Shantangouder quashed the notices and gave liberty to the BDA to issue fresh notices incorporating correct and valid reasons asking the shopkeepers to vacate.
