SBT ‘A’ posts win
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Bank of Travancore ‘A’ defeated Cycle Brand Kids CC by six wickets in the Alka Ventures TDCA ‘A’ division cricket league at the Medical College ground on Friday.
Batting first, Kids CC failed to prosper against a steady SBT attack and was dismissed for 166 runs in the 40th over.
Only Santu Jose (37) and Unnikrishnan (30) could make any substantial contribution to the Kids total.
Chasing a modest target, SBT innings was given the impetus by Sony Cheruvathur who lashed a quick half-century. SBT reached the target in the 32nd over for the loss of four wickets.
The scores: Cycle Brand Kids CC 166 in 39.4 overs (Santu Jose 37, V.A. Jagadeesh three for 18) lost to SBT ‘A’ 169 for four in 31.4 overs (Sony Cheruvathur 50).
