85 persons have twin voter ID cards

KRISHNAGIRI: As many as 85 people residing near Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh borders have twin voter ID cards. These cases have been reported to the State Election Office for further action, Collector V.K. Shanmugam has said.
He told reporters here on Thursday that he visited the bordering villages in Veppanahalli and Thali Assembly segments and found that 85 cardholders had double voter ID cards.
A total of 6,592 polling officials had been enlisted for election duty.
There were 134 polling booths which had been identified as sensitive and 10 booths as hyper-sensitive.
Security arrangements would be evolved according to the need, he added.
The Collector said that three observers had been appointed for six Assembly segments. Two complaints had been received regarding violation of code of conduct.
Regarding defacing of walls, 23 notices were issued to different political parties in Krishnagiri Assembly constituency.
