BIG DAY: J.A.K.Tareen, Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry Central University, presenting degree to a graduate at the first annual convocation of RVS College in Karaikal on Thursday. KARAIKAL: Young graduates should improve their communication skills to face the challenges in global economic and employment scenario and effective communication is vital for the holistic development of an individual, said Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry Central University J. A. K. Tareen here on Thursday. Delivering the first convocation address of the RVS College of Arts and Science run by the RVS Educational Trust here, the Vice-Chancellor advised the students to update their knowledge and communication skills and serve people with responsibility. Prof. Tareen, who pointed out that there were thousands of poor people who did not have access even to primary education, said, “We must try to help the downtrodden.” He distributed degrees to 218 graduates at the convocation. He called upon the private educational institutions to concentrate on pre-primary and primary education for the poor. He appreciated the RVS Educational Trust that was running more than 70 educational institutions. R. V. Kuppusamy, Chairman of the RVS Educational Trust, presided. A. Rajan, Principal of the RVS College of Arts and Science, R. Karunanithi, Principal of RVS Engineering College, Senthil Ganesh, managing trustee and others spoke.
