Sharief, Sangliana pay tribute to Rajkumar

IN REMEMBRANCE: Congress candidate for Bangalore North C.K. Jaffer Sharief paying respects at Rajkumar’s memorial to mark the actor’s third death anniversary in Bangalore on Sunday. BANGALORE: Leaving aside politics and campaigning, Congress candidates from Bangalore Central and Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituencies visited the memorial of late thespian Rajkumar at Kanteerava Studios here on Sunday. Accompanied by party leaders, Bangalore Central candidate H.T. Sangliana and Bangalore North candidate C.K. Jaffer Sharief arrived at different times of the day at the memorial where the programmes to mark the third death anniversary of the late matinee idol had been organised. The two leaders held brief discussions with Parvathamma Rajkumar, wife of the late actor, and his sons, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Shivarajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar.

Mr. Sangliana, who arrived with MLA N.L. Narendra Babu, said: “I had known the late actor for a long time. Every time we met, it was a mutual appreciation. I have gone there out of admiration.”

The former policeman, who spent about 25 minutes at the memorial, said, “I thought it was befitting to give him (late Rajkumar) a homage and also to see to what extent has his memorial been developed.

Many fans of the late actor visited the memorial on Sunday and the actor’s family members interacted with many of them.

Food was also arranged for the fans who had arrived from distance places.
