Bangalore: Three from a family, all residents of Anekal, were murdered near Hosur in Tamil Nadu in the early hours of Sunday, according to the Hosur police. The victims were identified as Chandra Reddy (55), his son, Dasharatha Reddy alias Rajappa (29), and Chandra Reddy’s son-in-law, Ramesh Reddy (36). The Hosur police said that a land dispute was the reason for the murders. According to the police, the crime took place at Kempati village on the Karnataka – Tamil Nadu border around 1.30 a.m. The victims were hacked and their heads were smashed with boulders, they said. “Recently, the victims had sold their ancestral property in Tamil Nadu. This had led to a quarrel between them and their relative Gajendra. Later, the victims relocated to Anekal and were involved in flower business. On Saturday, they had been to Kempati. Yet again a quarrel broke out between them and Gajendra. The accused, Gajendra, and his friends attacked the victims with axes and machetes. The three died on the spot,” an officer of the Hosur police station told The Hindu here on Sunday. Gajendra, who was injured, is in a hospital. The police said that he has been arrested. InjuredA 35-year-old man allegedly attacked his wife and sister-in-law with a knife and later tried to commit suicide, the police have said. The three are in hospital. The incident occurred at Shahbad Nagar near Shampur in D.J. Halli police limits here on Sunday. The police identified the accused as Suhail. His wife, Asma, and sister-in-law, Tasmiya Kouser, were the victims.
