Beating 85 to race away to glory

Staff Reporter

Motorcycle racer Krishnan Chaitanya will now compete at the finals in Delhi

Bangalore: The Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt for India’s most passionate biker held the final leg of the preliminary challenge here on Sunday. Krishnan Chaitanya beat 85 tough competitors to win the title of Castrol Power1’s Most Passionate Biker from Bangalore. Mr. Chaitanya will represent Bangalore and compete against the winners from eight other cities in India at the All-India finals in New Delhi on April 22.

The competition included a test of biking skills, bike style quotient, biking knowledge and overall passion for riding. It was a test of skill, control and patience while riding, discouraging any exhibition of speed or stunts. The winner of the All-India finals is entitled to receive a Yamaha R1, every biker’s dream machine, from none other than the celebrity biker John Abraham himself.

The competition was judged by Sundeep Gajjar, Sandeep Goswami and Sunil Gupta. Mr. Gajjar is the founder of xBhp.com, a popular motorcycling portal. Mr. Goswami and Mr. Gupta are its members.

Giving away prizes to the winners, Rohit Talwar, Senior Brand Manager, Castrol India Limited, said: “I am delighted at the response we have got for the Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt. In every city, the event has seen keen competition.”

The event was also attended by special guest Alisha Abdullah, the first and only woman motorcycle racer in India.

“It is quite like racing as the power of concentration is tested,” she said.
