COFFEE BREAK: The four-in-one coffee maker "Magic Brew" launched by Cata Appliances in Chennai. CHENNAI: Cata Appliances Limited (CAL), in tie-up with Cantee Electrodomestico of Spain, has launched a range of coffee machines under the brand name ‘Cantee’ in the Indian market. Cata and Cantee are well known brands in kitchen appliances in Europe. CAL was incorporated in India in 2004 to market kitchen appliances such as chimneys, built-in-hobs, built-in-ovens and exhaust fans in India. Automated facilitiesCata has fully automated and robotised manufacturing facilities in Barcelona (Spain), Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Xian Lan (China). It is present in more than 80 countries. Addressing presspersons after launching coffee machines in Chennai on Tuesday, Shiraz Naqvi, Managing Director of Cata Appliances, said the coffee machines had 4-in-1 feature of making espresso, cappuccino, filter coffee and tea. Mr. Naqvi said the Indian company was on a fast track growth and expansion mode with a pan-India presence of 100 distributors, 1,500 retailers and 75 CAL kitchen marts. The company was looking at the expansion of its retail base to 200 CAL kitchen marts and 3,000 retail outlets by 2009-10. The Indian outfit has reported a turnover Rs. 30 crore in 2008-09.
